Do I get to participate in the competition if I’m not a currently registered student?

No, you need to provide a proof of matriculation of either Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD level studies.

Is my trip to St. Gallen for the whole week really for free?

Yes, the Impulse Network covers the cost for your travels to St. Gallen, your accommodation during the week, and the meals during official events.

Do I have to cite my sources and submit a bibliography?

Yes, all essays will be checked for plagiarism and need to adhere to APA 7th edition citation standard. 

What happens after I have submitted my essay?

Once you have turned in your paper via the provided link, a “thank you” tab will appear. This means your submission has been successful. If we see any problems or missing documents we will contact you via the email you have provided in your submission.

Who sits in the jury for the essay?

The jury is represented by a diverse mix of industry professionals, professors, and our Co-Organisator the Federal Institute for Sport Switzerland. 

When will I know if I have been chosen as one of the top 3 authors?

The submission deadline is September 16th, 2022. The top three authors will receive an invitation latest October 7th, 2022.

Do I have to book the trip myself?

No, we will contact you and organize the bookings for your trip to St. Gallen.

What happens if I get chosen as one of the top three authors?

The three winning authors get notified by us and invited to the Summit. They will participate in the Global Talents Program (Oct. 31st to Nov. 4th) including Global Talents day, Experience Day and two-day Impulse Summit. Additionally they will be honored in one of the Impulse Sessions and the winning author gets the chance to present his/her unique perspective. 

Where am I accommodated during the Global Talents Program?

All Global Talents are accommodated at private student flats across the city. Special requirements are taken into consideration (e.g. female flatmates only).

How will I receive the CHF 5000?

The money will be transferred to your bank account post Summit.

What transport is provided?

Depending on your location, we will book a flight, train or bus ticket. Additionally, every Global Talent gets a free public transport ticket for the whole week for St. Gallen.

How much money do I need? 

We recommend bringing some pocket money of around CHF 100-200. Depending on your time of arrival/departure and individual evening activities, some meals might not be covered.
