Opportunities for sports
The digital transformation of the economy and general society has been rapidly accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to adequately address the change, new business models are to be developed to face agility & adaptability in the digital age.
On our platform, we aim to create unique and valuable insights to drive digitalisation and new business models within the industry. We started our journey in 2019 by collaborating with FC Bayern Munich on future fan experiences during a football weekend. In early 2021, we collaborated again with the FC Bayern Munich on monetisation of new business models. Further, we work with the DFB-Akademie TechLab on mapping emerging technologies in football by creating a technology radar. Our current projects include a continuation of our work with the DFB-Akamdemie TechLab on our technology radar, the valuation data-driven fan engagement platforms with the DFL Digital, and co-creation of an article in the McKinsey & Company Sporting goods report 2022.
Our general approach for projects on these platforms is to onboard a team of dedicated students that complete either a workshop or longer-term industry project with a partner on a question relevant to the industry. This practical approach created profound and deep insights combining academic knowledge and practical challenges. We would like to thank our partners for the insightful current and past collaborations.
Our industry projects generally run on a semester basis aligned with the semester dates in St. Gallen. We start projects in March and September and end them in July and December. Each platform has freedom regarding the exact mode of creation of impulses. In general, the aim is to create a published output that can qualitatively or even quantitatively illustrate the value for the discourse of the specific platform.
Support Transfermarkt within their expansion, our team will assess the international football landscape.
Together with SportsTechX our team proposes a framework to facilitate the connection between startups and needed capital.
