Impulse Summit 2022 Recap

Under the guiding topic #daretogether, the Impulse Summit – organized by HSG students – brought together selected young student talents and leaders of the sports industry for a joint
intergenerational dialogue.

On November 3 rd and 4 th , the Impulse Summit 2022, the flagship event of the Impulse Network, took
place at the SQUARE and WBZ. The initiative aims to build a platform for dialogue at the interface of
sport, business, politics, culture, and science. Furthermore, it intends to promote cross-disciplinary
exchange in this field, create impulses and connect young talents with leaders in the sports industry.
This year´s Impulse Summit brought together 140 sports industry experts and 50 selected young
student talents – our Global Talents – from all over the world. Under the guiding topic #daretogether, this year’s edition was all about challenging all stakeholders of the sports business industry to dare and empower others to achieve progress together through the adoption of an
athlete‘s mentality.

During the two Summit days, we created new impulses and solutions surrounding regulations and
structures in the (European) sports system with Michael Payne (former advisor of Bernie Ecclestone,
Payne Sports Media Strategies), Samy Hamama (Eintracht Frankfurt), or Nicolas Evans (FIFA). After
that, we took a deep dive into new innovations and technological advancements with e.g.,
Konstantin Druker (Sports Business Advisory PwC), Carl Kuhn (JvM Sports), or Thomas de Buhr
(DAZN). The second day of the Impulse Summit was fully dedicated to the role of sports in creating
greater social well-being by e.g., insights from Greta Bodino (Juventus Turin), Tom Pitts (LionRock
Capital), and Pierre Jouannin (NBA Europe & Middle East).

We are very thankful for all of our partners, sponsors and personal donators such as e.g., BASPO –
the Swiss Federal Office of Sport – Schöffel, Allianz, City St. Gallen, and many more who supported us
and without whom we couldn´t look back on these two successful, unique, and amazing days.
