Industry Scholarships offered to Impulse Network

PRESS RELEASE:

ST GALLEN – 13.11.2021

The Impulse Network has today announced its Academic Partnership with the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), a leader in developing specialist education programmes in the sports industry. The partnership looks to leverage the common commitments of both organisations to drive change on a global and regional level and prepare young people for a career in the sports industry by building awareness and offering a wide range of opportunities to collaborate with leading organisations in the sports industry.

The partnership is centred around WAoS’ support being provided for the Impulse Summit 2022 as well as a scholarship programme that will provide existing members, alumni and Summit attendees with the opportunity to build on existing expertise or qualifications within the sports industry.

The partnership will provide immediate opportunities to stakeholders of the Impulse Network with one fully-funded scholarship and 5, 25% scholarships available for the WAoS/University of London Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in International Sports Management.

The fully online course can be completed between one and five years, recognising that industry professionals require varying levels of learning at different stages in their careers as many have limited time available. Additionally, the programme recognises that the importance of combining local context with an international overlay is increasingly more important in all aspects of sports management. Currently, there are over 150 students taking the course, representing over 20 sports and 60 nationalities.

Impulse Network’s Head of Partnerships, Hendrik Hölzenbein, said:

“We are delighted to be partnering with the World Academy of Sport to enable our members, alumni and the Global Talents attending the Impulse Summit to acquire new qualifications through participating in WAoS’ scholarship programme. I encourage all of our network stakeholders to apply because this may be the next step in their career progression.

We are also thrilled to be working with WAoS in the organisation of the 5th Impulse Summit 2022 which will be taking place in October 2022.”

WAoS’ Managing Director, Chris Solly, said:

“We are delighted to be able to be able to support the Impulse Network for next year’s Summit in addition to the scholarship offer for the February 2021 intake of the PGCert programme in International Sports Management. The global sport industry is quickly rebounding.  It is becoming more professional and global.  The demand for highly qualified senior managers is increasing. A postgraduate qualification can give students the extra level of skill needed to progress. Applications for the scholarship and PGCert programme will be open between 26 October and 12 December 2021. Further information on the programme can be found on our website. Applicants can also apply directly by contacting pgc@worldacademysport.com.
